Antoine Cormier MEMRAMCOOK, NB - Antoine Cormier, 93, of Residence La Vallée de Memramcook, formerly of Moncton, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in Moncton. Born in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Albert Cormier and Cécile LeBlanc. Dear father of Héléna (Gilles Dumais) of Ottawa, Raymond (late Carole Crockett) and Charles (Marie-Reine Allaire) both of Dunham, QC, Roland (Suzanne Pichette) of Fredericton, Gisèle (Denis Émond) of Halifax; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella (Camille Bourgeois) of Moncton, Marie-Louise of Memramcook, Thérèse (Dr Paul-Émile LeBlanc) of Bouctouche; his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorice (née LeBlanc); three brothers, Alyre, Eugene and Tilmon; a sister, Dora and a grandchild, Éric. Following his studies at St-Joseph University, Antoine was employed with the Correctional Service of Canada at Dorchester Penitentiary where he worked for a number of years. Retired from the C.N.R. after 35 years of loyal service, he occupied the functions of constable in Moncton, special agent in Quebec and Campbellton. A member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degrees, he was past Grand Knight of Moncton's 1310 Council, District Deputy of the State Council, Faithful Navigator of Mgr. Roy M. McDonald Assembly, Executor Secretary Emeritus of State Council, and honoured with the Order of Colombian Merit. He was also past member of the Sacred-Heart League at the Assumption Cathedral and their president for several years, past member of the Assumption's Golden Age Club, Richelieu Moncton, and many other organizations. The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 9:30 until time of departure (10:15). The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
