Alban Mazerolle
Alban Mazerolle DALHOUSIE, NB - Alban Mazerolle of Dalhousie died at home Sunday, December 4, 2005 at the age of 80. Born in Portage River, the son of the late Alfred and Olive (Richard). He sang for hundreds of weddings and funerals and was a member of the church choir for 72 years, starting in the senior choir at age eight. He was very active in the community as past president of the Dalhousie Food Bank, past president of the Mazerolle Association, current president of the Dalhousie Duplicate Bridge Club. He was an active campaigner for various charities including the Red Cross, Diabetes and Cancer associations. Alban was proud of his contributions to the Restigouche Pastorate Care Program. He is survived by his loving wife, Inez (Hickey) and his children, Carmel Marshall (Jeff), Amherst Head, NS, Janet Briaud (Jean-Louis), College Station, Texas, Dan (Katherine), Dartmouth, NS, David, Saint John, NB, Rae (Lynn), Dalhousie, NB and Paul (Carole), Dieppe, NB. He was extremely proud of his children. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Mark Mazerolle, Natalie Pine, Elizabeth Mazerolle, Daniel Mazerolle, Patrick Briaud, Erin Mazerolle, Jennie-Anne Marshall, Louise MacLeod, Kelly Mazerolle, Megan Marshall, Carolyn Mazerolle, Marie-Pier Mazerolle and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Mitchel Mazerolle. To these special people he was a participating grandfather and will be especially missed for his hugs, singing and cooking. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leopold, Edgar, Aurele, Lionel, Elzear, Rheal, Antonio, Alderic as well as a sister, Dorilla Seems. He is survived by his sisters, Aline Goulette, Irene Davis and Annette Richard. His funeral was held at St. John Bosco Church Dalhousie, Friday, December 9 at 11 am officiated by Father William Arseneault. Donations in memory of Alban can be made to the Irvin Hickey Scholarship Fund or a charity of a donor's choice.
