John (Jock) S.T. Higgins
John (Jock) S.T. Higgins John (Jock) S.T. Higgins, 84, of Salisbury and formerly of Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, December 18, 2005. Born in New Cumnock, Scotland son of the late John and Williamina (Scott) Higgins. John was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. Ltd and retired from Canada Post. He was a veteran of the 2nd World War, served with the RAF and was the recipient of the Burma Star. He was a member of Zetland Lodge # 24 F & AM, Zetland Chapter # 26 OES, Moncton Legion Branch # 6, member of the Foresters and was a former Cub Leader at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Jock will be sadly missed by his Grandsons, Mark (Julie), Second North River, John (Tammy), Battleground, Washington; great grandchildren, Faith and Andrew; special niece Ronnie Meadows (Dean); special grand niece, Tradina Meadows- Forgeron (Darren). Predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Flora (Sherwood) Higgins (April 2004); son, John C. (October 1998). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Wednesday, 7 to 9, Thursday 2 to 4, 7 to 9. Moncton Legion # 6 Memorial Service, Wednesday 7pm. Zetland Lodge # 24 F & AM Memorial Service Thursday, 6:45pm. Funeral Service at Second North River Baptist Church Friday, December 23, 2005, 1pm. Mark Hunter officiating. Reception following the Service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
