Donald G. Brooks 1928-2006 Donald Brooks, in his 78th year, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, February 9, 2006, following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton on February 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Guy and Helen (Ricker) Brooks. Don retired in 1987 from the CNR Moncton following 37 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. John's United Church, he loved gardening and daily contact with his friends. He is survived by two sons, Donald (Lois), and Colin all of Moncton; a brother, Kenneth (Beulah), of Bible Hill, NS; grandsons, Steven and Samuel; his dear companion, Marilyn of Moncton, as well as several nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Rita; brothers, Carl and Harry; and a sister, Joan. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. A reception following the service will be held in the Garden View Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
