Lionel P. Thurrott 1914 - 2006 SOUTH BRANCH, NB - Lionel P. Thurrott, 92, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of South Branch, passed away at Spencer Memorial Home Monday, February 27, 2006 at 4:30 am. Born in Rexton, NB, he was the son of the late Howard and Ethel (Hume) Thurrott. He began his working career in the sawmills of Nova Scotia, then took over the family farm, where he spent his time developing his herd of Herford beef cattle and his special silver foxes, which he was very proud of; as well as working as a quarry rock driller for Modern Construction and MacDonald Paving until he retired. A very loving and concerned husband, Lionel was also a true and caring friend to many. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Iva (McLaughlin) Thurrott. He will also be missed by his only surviving sister, Kathleen Arsenault (Edgar); and nephews, Blair (Annette) Thurrott and Lloyd (Elizabeth) Thurrott; as well as other nephews and nieces. Also special friends, Ruth and Bill Banks, Edna Mitchell, Walter Warren. Lionel was predeceased by two sisters, Bernice Thurrott and Marion Martin (Kenneth); and also his brother, Gordon. In keeping with Lionel's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held at the Zion Presbyterian Cemetery, West Branch at a later date.
