Iona Bernice Milton 1922 - 2006 ALBERT MINES, NB - Iona Bernice Milton, 83, of Albert Mines has gone to be with her Lord, she passed away peacefully on March 7, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital. Iona was born in Gladeside, Kent County, NB on July 8, 1922 the daughter of the late Harry and Lily (West) Hicks. Iona worked at T. E. Eatons for many years and later ran a country store in Albert Mines until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Albert Mines Baptist Church. Iona loved the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing with her husband and also enjoyed her flower garden. Above all things she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she really cherished times spent with her family. She was a very special lady and had a very gentle and kind manner about her. She will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of her family forever. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Gerald Milton; her daughter, Colleen Steeves (Paul) of Albert Mines; son, Doran Milton (Lorna) of Dawson Settlement; sister, Leta Ward (David) of Moncton; and also by her five precious grandchildren, Melissa, Nathan, Benjamin, Krista and Erin. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son; a sister, Grace and by three brothers, Hardy, Lloyd and Cecil. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 2pm with Pastor Dave Ross officiating. Interment will be held in the Albert Mines Cemetery, Albert Mines, NB. Donations to the Albert Mines Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
