Mary Catherine Tobin, 82 of Westmount, formerly of Ashby, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Josephine (Dawson) Delaney.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, the Catholic Woman\'s League and the Sydney Pensioners Club. Mary was an expert seamstress having worked at the Canada Games in 1987. She was also an avid bowler, bingo player and active traveler to figure skating competitions across Canada.
She is survived by two daughters Lynn, Sydney and Karen, at home; two sons Blair (Patricia), Sarnia, Ont. and Michael (Frankie), Sydney. She will also be missed by her five favorite grandchildren, Cheryl, Ryan, Jennifer, Katlyn and William. She is also survived by three sisters Margaret (Earle) Healey, Agnes (Marty) MacIntyre, Jean MacLeod; four brothers Mart (Ruth), Jim (Cecelia), Joe (Betty) and Pat (Myrna).
She was predeceased by her husband William \'Bill\' Tobin in 1982; brothers Gerry and Ron and sister Theresa Smith.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Tobin will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary church with Rev. Doug Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
