George R. Goodwin BAIE VERTE, NB - The death of George R. Goodwin, age 84, of Baie Verte, occurred suddenly on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in Baie Verte, he was a son of the late Roland and Margaret (Craig) Goodwin. George was formerly employed with NB Dept of Highways for 25 years prior to retirement. A Veteran of World War II he served with the Hussars in France and Holland. George will be sadly missed by his two sons, Bliss (Jeannette) and Ralph (Kathy), both of Baie Verte; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth and Amos (Verne), both of Baie Verte; two sisters, Lottie Pye, Truro and Dora Nadeau, Edmundston, NB. He was predeceased by his wife, Dora and his son, Owen. The remains have been cremated under the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin, from where a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2006 at 11 am, Rev. Marion Lloy officiating.
