Emma Anne MacNeil of Tidal View Manor, Yarmouth, formerly of 90 Spruce Street, Sydney, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Tidal View Manor, Yarmouth.
Born in Lower L'Ardoise, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary
(Masters) Sampson.
She was a long time member of St. Theresa's Parish, Sydney. In her earlier years, she was employed at Kurtins Dairy on George Street.
A devoted daughter, wife and mother, Emma is survived by one son George Albert MacNeil Jr., Amherst; daughter-in-law Margaret and granddaughters Katelyn and Erin; a sister Sara Miles, Dartmouth and a brother Hillary 'Frenchie' (Ethel) Sampson, Sydney.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, George Albert MacNeil on September 3, 1998 and granddaughter Emily Catherine MacNeil on August 14, 2001.
Visitation for Mrs. MacNeil will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa's church on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating.
Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice.
