
Frederick (Ted) Doncaster
Frederick (Ted) Doncaster 1934-2006 SACKVILLE, NB - Ted Doncaster passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Leukemia (CLL). He was the son of the late Frederick S. and Pauline (Lawrence) Doncaster. He was born in Sackville, NB on August 4, 1934. Ted had a keen interest in athletics in his youth, and became interested in boxing. He lived in the USA for many years and won the New England Light Heavyweight Championship in 1956. He also served in the United Stated Air Force. Ted returned to Sackville, attended Holland College and joined the Sackville Police Force where he spent ten years working hard to uphold the law. He was inducted into Sackville's first Sports Wall of Fame in May of 1989. His portrait hangs in Sackville's newly named Tantramar Veterans' Memorial Civic Center along with other inductees. Ted will be forever missed by his wife of twenty eight years Lois (French) Doncaster. He is also survived by his son Mark (Dawn) and grandkids, Dana and Shane, of Dunedin, Florida; brothers and sisters, Donald (Janet) of Hixson, Tennessee, Bliss (Edith) of Sackville, Robert (Florence) of Sackville, Anna Mason of Sulpher, Louisiana, Amy Weaver of Oblong, Illinois, Joyce Wakefield of Osgoode, Ontario; mother-in-law, Charlotte (Lottie) French of Sackville; brother-in-law Brian (Johanna Kramer) French of Toronto, sisters-in-law, Claire (Jack) Peterson of Leominster, Massachusetts, Joan (McEwen (Allan Balser) of Sackville and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his precious daughter, Julie, in May of 2003. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). A candlelight service will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 4 pm in the chapel at Campbell's Funeral Home, to mourn the passing and to celebrate the life of a man who will always be remembered by the ones who shared his life and loved him. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery at a later date.
