Arlene S. Taylor PORT COLBORNE, ON - Arlene Shirley (nee Pope) Taylor of Port Colborne, ON passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Saturday, April 8, 2006 in her 88th year. Born in Woodbridge, New Jersey, she came to Canada in 1939 and lived in Port Colborne, then moved to Havelock, New Brunswick in 1967 until returning to Port Colborne in 1981, where she has resided since that time. She was a member of the Canada Cement Auxiliary where she bowled and played cards. Arlene enjoyed gardening, reading and playing bingo. She also hosted several Pope and Taylor family reunions over the years. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Taylor (2000); loving mother of David (Rose), Tom, Greg (Patricia) and Ellen (Rick); dear grandmother of David, Nancy, Andrew, Tom, Lori, Rhonda and Kara; great grandmother of eight; sister of David Pope. Lovingly remembered by Janice Taylor, Deborah Burgess and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Nellie Pope; her brothers, Lawrence, Harland, Wilbur, Clinton, Frederick, Charles; and sister Virginia. Mrs. Taylor's family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, ON on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Thomas Arth officiating.
