GRUCHY, Philip W. – Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre, Philip W. Gruchy, aged 82 years. Predeceased by his wife Pearl (November 1985) and brother Thomas (August 2003). He leaves to mourn daughter Denise Gruchy at Trenton, Ontario and son Eric Gruchy at Toronto, Ontario; two granddaughters: Emily and Katie O’Leary (Denise’s daughters); two sisters: Rita Duncanson, Monsey, N.Y. and Mary (William) Hussey; sister-in-law Marjorie Gruchy at Pouch Cove; friend and helper Garry Parsons; aunt Edith Anthony at North River, C.B. and sister-inlaw Judy (William) Barnes; he also leaves a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 6th and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. A Requiem will be celebrated at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Craigmiller Avenue at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009. Internment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by his request.
