Ethel L. Smith LOWER COVERDALE, NB - Ethel L. Smith, 80, of Lower Coverdale with her family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2006. Born in Port Elgin, Ethel grew up in Little Shimogue, daughter of the late Clarence and Henrietta (Walton) Amos. Ethel was a talented, creative, witty spirit who loved and enjoyed her family. As a square dancer and instructor, Ethel danced her way-by rail across the country with the Tidal Twirlers (1967). She loved music, singing, gardening, hunting, fishing and life. She was a team member of the Misfits Bowling League. Member of Lower Coverdale United Church, she formerly worked at CIBC Bank and Eatons, and resided at Castle Manor, Moncton. Ethel was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her five children, Catherine McCabe (Brad), Lakeville, Daniel Smith (Kim), Heather Berry (Herman), both of Lower Coverdale, Pamela Nelson (the late Bryan) Fredericton, Vonnie Mann (Ron), Moncton; her 10 grandchildren, Matthias, Wesley and Aaron Mann, Willow (Nelson) Goodine, April (Berry) Lane, Lee and Jessica Berry, Charlie, Catherine, and Levi Smith; her three great grandchildren, Taylor Nelson, Kamryn Goodine and Evan Lane; one sister, Murielle Brown, Burnaby, BC; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Sharpe and Mabel Angus; brothers, Mel and Jackie Amos. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Monday, May 8, 2006 at 1:30pm, Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Wilmot Cemetery, Lower Coverdale.
