Lloyd Allison Ritchie
Lloyd Allison Ritchie 1924 - 2006 Lloyd A. Ritchie, Hillsborough Road, Riverview, passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. Born in Baltimore, Albert Co on June 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Scott and Annie (Irving) Ritchie. He retired from Barbour Company (Reed Wholesalers) in Moncton in 1989, prior to that he worked at Dominion Stores. He was a proud gardener, enthusiastic bowler and a member of the Air Force Vets Club, where he and his brother, Scott enjoyed their pool games every week. An active member and Steward of The Lower Coverdale United Church, he was involved in many activities, and was known to be an expert with the vacuum cleaner. He and Olive enjoyed travelling including trips to Israel, Dorveal, Hawaii, and Trinidad, etc., and many trips to Saskatchewan to visit Olive's family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Above all he loved being with his family and enjoyed family reunions. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Olive Ritchie; daughters, Pamela Fraser (David) of Moncton, Charlene Whalen of Riverview, Colleen Ritchie of Riverview; sons, Rodney Ritchie (Sandra) of Quispamsis and Stephen Ritchie (Jennifer) of Riverview; eight grandchildren, Scott Ritchie, Heidi Ritchie, Jarin Whalen, Cara Fraser, David Fraser, Rebekah Ritchie, Jonathan Ritchie and Matthew Ritchie; sisters, Audrey Seeley of Moncton, Mina Steeves (Lotan) of Petitcodiac, Sheila Lund (Cameron) of Riverview, Jean Allen (Herman) of Moncton, Prudence Harmer (Bill) of Havelock, Carole Hendy (Ronnie) of Riverview, and Donna Steeves (Charles) of Mississauga, ON; sister-in-law, Shirley Ritchie of Riverview; brothers, Scott Ritchie (Doris), and Greg Ritchie (Carol) both of Riverview; also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Vernon. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, visiting on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Interment will be in Wesleyan Union Cemetery. In Lloyd's memory, donations made to The Lower Coverdale United Chuch or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
