Marion C. Steeves 1945-2006 HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Marion C. Steeves, 61, of Hillsborough passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Harvey, Albert County, NB, the daughter of the late Burpee and Grace (Steeves) Berry. She worked at T. Eaton Company for many years then worked as a custodian for the Caledonia Regional High and Hillsborough Elementary School. She enjoyed camping, reading, traveling, country music, gospel music and above all good ol' time fiddle music with the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers, super fiddle shows and whatever else that pertained to fiddle music. She was a very devoted wife, mother and very proud grandmother and also a very faithful servant for her Lord. Marion was a very special lady who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Blair Steeves of Hillsborough; daughter, Tammy Davidson (Chris) of Albert Mines; son, George Steeves of Fredericton; and by her special grandchildren, Sarah, Zachary, Rebecca and Emily; brothers, Rupert Berry of Riverside-Albert, Bob Berry of Oshawa; sisters, Hulda Milton (Killam) of Albert Mines, Barb Chapman (Don) and Burla Dempsy (Carl), both of Moncton; also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by many good friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Waldo, John, Roy, James, Fred and sister Thelma. She will be resting at the Valley Baptist Church, Hillsborough with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Valley Baptist Church on Friday at 2pm with Rev. Kevin Mahoney Officiating. Interment will be held at the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, Hopewell Cape, 734-2780. The family would like to thank all the people who cared for Marion throughout her illness, the exceptional care given to her has meant so much. A special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit 3600 of the Moncton Hospital, family physician - Dr. Chesser, the nurses and doctors of the Oncology Unit at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital and also to the Extra Mural nurses who cared for Marion in her own home.
