MATTHEWS, Asenath (nee Butt)– Passed peacefully away at Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John’s on Friday, March 6, 2009, Asenath Samson Matthews of Musgravetown, formerly of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay, aged 89 years. Predeceased by husband Murdock in 1987, parents Joshua and Dina Butt of Flat Island and two granddaughters. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Glenys (Scott) Campbell, St. John’s and Eva (Melvin) Harris, Ottawa; son Gary (Cynthia), Musgravetown; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Escasoni Home in St. John’s for their tremendous support and care of Senie while she was a resident.
