Rita W. Bernard SALISBURY, NB - Rita Wilhelmina Bernard of Main Street, Salisbury passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at The Moncton Hospital. Born at Calcutta, India, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Mercy (Abraham) D'Cruz. Rita retired as a secretary with Barclays Unicorn Ltd. Bank in England. After settling in Salisbury with her late husband, Samuel she became an active member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, where she proudly supported the building of the new church, and was also a member of the local T.O.P.S. group and attended the Monday Morning Merry Makers. She will be sadly missed by all, especially her family including daughters, Mercy Chapman (James) of Spain, Marianne Cook (Roger) of England; sons, Edwin (Mary) of California, Colin of England; a brother, Derrick D'Cruz (Daphne) of England; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel in 1990. Resting at St. Jude's Church, Salisbury with visiting Sunday, May 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish prayers and sharing of memories will be at 8 p.m. The Funeral will be held from the Church on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Doucett officiating. Interment will be at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Leaman Hill. If so desired, memorials to St. Jude's Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
