Arthur V. Reid SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Arthur Reid, age 89, of Sackville, formerly of Dorchester, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2006. Born in Brooklyn, NB, he was a son of the late Frank and Celesta (Trenholm) Reid. A veteran of WW II, he served in the Carlton and York Regiment of the Canadian Army in England and continental Europe. He was made a life member of the Dorchester Legion and a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Arthur was a member of the Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 F & AM. A former employee with Corrections Canada with 27 years of service. Arthur will be sadly missed by his wife the former Catherine Carson, Sackville and two daughters, Donna McGregor, Red Deer, AB and Sharon Reid, Moncton; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Cory; two great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (Doug) Hamilton, Mildred (Robert) Blair and Mary (Roger) Goodwin; a brother, Brenton (Faye) Reid; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene and brothers, Reuben, Harvey and Vaughn. The remains have been entrusted to the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2:30 pm, burial in the Baie Verte Cemetery. Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday at 8 pm. Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 will hold their memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
