Herman Oscar Ayer 1921 - 2006 SACKVILLE, N.B.- The death of Herman Ayer, age 85, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 13, 2006. Born in Mount View, N.B. on June 17, 1921, he was the son of the late Leander and Annie (Read) Ayer. Prior to retirement, Herman was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and was involved in church work for many years. Herman will be sadly missed by his wife of sixty years, the former Twila Smith; one daughter, Bonnie (Tom) Redmond of Bathurst, N.B.; one son, Duane (Sandra) Ayer of Sackville, N.B.; one sister, Ruby (Kenneth) Hicks of Moncton, N.B.; two grandchildren, Kelly (Glen) Hanson and Darryl Redmond; two step grandchildren, Tony and Keith Ward; one great grandchild, Kennedi Hanson and two step great grandchildren, Wayne and Julia Ward. He was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian and Lena and three brothers, Gerald, Floyd and Allison. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Friday, July 14, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from the Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Morris Mills officiating. Burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery. Following the service a time of fellowship and remembrance will be held at the Salem Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Herman may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of ones choice.
