Merle C. Wheaton WHEATON SETTLEMENT, NB - Merle Claude Wheaton, 69, of Wheaton Settlement passed away at home Saturday, July 15, 2006 surrounded by family. Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was a son of the late Claude and Lucy (MacLeod) Wheaton. Merle was a retired truck driver with Cement Cartage and a member of the Wheaton Settlement Baptist Church. Merle enjoyed family gatherings, especially those involving music, as he enjoyed playing and singing along with friends, and he also enjoyed restoring tractors. He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Donna Melvin; his children, Cindy Wheaton (Allen Lewis) of Upper Coverdale, Larry of Alberta, Stephen (Pearl) of Wheaton Settlement, Terry (Darla) of Riverview; their children Trevor (Kristy) of Moncton, Shonda Schwetz (Stephen) of Wheaton Settlement; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Skinner and Greta Blakney (Donald) of Moncton and Betty Hallihan (Willis) of Wheaton Settlement; brothers, Orlo (Carol) of Prosser Brook, Robert (Yvonne) of BC; and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Donald; infant sister, Opal; and infant granddaughter, Alysia. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372- 4800) with visiting Monday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes officiating.
