Charles Richards SACKVILLE, NB - Surrounded by his family, Charles Richards, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Sackville on Saturday, July 29, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late George and Wynema (Hicks) Richards. Charles worked for CN Rail for 38 years. In his younger years he enjoyed coaching minor hockey to many Sackville kids. He was Past Fire Chief and an honorary life member of the Sackville Fire Department. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Marlyn (Scott); three sons, Bruce (Charlotte), Sackville, Michael (Susan), Edmonton, AB, and Danny (Catherine), Burlington, ON; one daughter, Lorrie (Mike) Purdy, Dorchester; 14 grandchildren, Melanie, Lauren, Kendra, Mychaela, Aimee, Tom, Jesse, Chelsea, Charlie, Catie, Angela, Samantha, Rocco, and Alex; four sisters, Joyce Estabrooks, Moncton, Juanita Richard, Dartmouth, Sally Ball, Winnipeg, and Jeannette Walters, Port Hope; his mother-in-law, Rhoma Scott, Amherst; several nieces and nephews. He is resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-1300) with visiting hours on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Sackville United Church on Wednesday at 2 pm, Rev. John Perkin officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
