Mr. Eric Beresford, 76, of Glace Bay died March 7, 2009, at Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born at Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith Beresford of Glace Bay.
He was employed at the British-Canadian Co-op Ltd., Hopkins Transport, Turner’s Transfer, and Nova Scotia Power Corporation. He always referred to himself as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, The Thistle Lodge No. 36, and The Tyrian Youth Lodge No. 45.
He is survived by sisters, Ethel and Audrey (Bill); and brothers, Roy, Billy and George (Norma). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, André Charlebois and his sister-in-law, Irene.
A masonic service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Internment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Palliative Care; The Thistle Lodge No. 36, 2641 Port Morien Highway, Port Morien, N.S., B1B 1C5; or a charity of choice.
