Robert M. Sweezey

Robert M. Sweezey 1924-2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Robert MacKenzie Sweezey, husband of Geneva Sweezey, of Taylor Lane, Napan Bay, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2006, at the age of 82. Born in Napan Bay, on September 28, 1924, he was the son of the late Benson and Florence (Jardine) Sweezey. He was a retired employee of the Province of New Brunswick, Dept. of Transportation. He was a member of Carmel United Church, Napan and a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the North Shore Regiment. He is survived by his wife, the former Geneva Watling; three daughters, Carmel MacDonald (Eddie), of Black River Bridge, Dale Hammond (Gary), of St. Thomas, Ont., Bonnie Lee Villeneuve (Gary), of Napan; two brothers, William Sweezey (Donna), Hubert Sweezey (Pauline), all of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Rodney, Tracy, Krista, Daniel, Raymond; one great grand daughter, Emily; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Thursday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Carmel United Church, on Friday, October 7, 2006, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. Please note, members of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday evening, at 7:30 pm, for a Veterans Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
