JOAN B. HICKS 1937-2006 Joan B. Hicks, 69, of Riverview, and formerly of Hawkshaw, with her loving family by her side, passed away peacefully, at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, October 20, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Otis, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah (Dore) Fox. Joan was a former employee of Ryan's Pharmacy, Nackawic and member of St. Paul's United Church, Riverview. She was a member and Past Matron of Fidelity Chapter #36, O.E.S. Riverview and Victoria Chapter #1 O.E.S Woodstock. Past Grand Matron of the New Brunswick Chapter of the O.E.S. and member of the Daughters of The Nile. Joan and her late husband, George were former volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. Joan enjoyed her friendships with members of the O.E.S. but first and foremost was her great love for her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan will be sadly missed by her children, Avis Dupere (Mario), Fredericton, Wanda McFarlane (Rick), Nackawic, Caroline Barton (Mac), Dumfries, Malcolm MacDonald (Wanda), Lower Hainesville, Scott MacDonald (Lois), Springhill, Gerald MacDonald (Jane), Hawkshaw, Aldon MacDonald (Nicole), Fredericton; step-children, Cindy Hicks, Moncton, David Hicks (Cynthia), Bruce Hicks (Lynda), both of Riverview; 27 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Audrey McGuire (Donald), Fredericton, Edith Walker, Meductic, Kay McGuire, Nackawic, Joyce Hues (Jessie), Arlington, Mass; brother, Merlin Fox (Eunice), Nackawic; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Leo MacDonald (1980); second husband, George Hicks (2004), step-son, George; sisters, Muriel, Enid; brother, Medley.
