Alice Alma Beers 1913 - 2006 Alice Alma Beers of Beersville, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB on Saturday, November 11, 2006. Born in South Branch, NB, she was 93 years old. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Arsenault) Mitchell. She was the wife of the late Howard C. Beers. She was a homemaker and attended St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville. She is survived by four sons, Paul (late Louise), Sanford (Penelope), Percy (Margaret), Phillip (Faye). Four sisters, Julia Murray (Watson), Agnes Boucher (Eugene), Mary Rose Richard (Albert) and Bessie; three brothers, William, Joseph, and Robert (Alice); seven grandchildren, Juanita, Roy, Percy, Ashley, Crystal, Belinda and Amanda; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alice is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She liked to quilt and knit and be with her family and friends. Alice spent most of her life as a homemaker and wife and mother. But, also cooked in lumber camps in the thirties, taught school in Smiths Corner. Took care of seniors in her home. She loved children and they loved her. Alice had many friends who cared deeply for her. Her passing leaves an empty place in our home, our family and our hearts. She was giving, caring, compassionate and loyal, who always cared about other people and not herself. She was witty and sharp even at the end. Alice missed her husband very much when he passed away in 1990. Now she can be with him again. She will be sadly missed and always be loved by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at Thompsons Funeral Home, Richibucto. Funeral Services will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville on Wednesday November 15, 2006 at 2pm with Rev. Cecil Symes officiating. Internment in the Parish Cemetery.
