Henry John Anderson, 44, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Edwin and Colleen (Lunn) Anderson.
Henry was employed at Wal-Mart. He enjoyed playing cards and in earlier years, ball hockey with the North End Raiders. In past years, he was involved with the North End Rec. Centre in various capacities. His children were the proudest accomplishment of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Marie (MacDonald); daughter, Kelly, at home; son, Patrick “Pat”, at home; special family friend, Becky Wadden, Dartmouth; sisters”: Joanne Lunn (Marcel), Spryfield; Dianne Smith, Beaverbank; Elsie (John) MacLean, Bedford; brothers: Edwin “Terk” (Brenda), Trenton; Doug (Holly), Timberlea; George (Cathy), Halifax; Tom, Trenton; Darrell (Heather), New Glasgow; Fred (Lori), Coalburn; Mike (Kim Cosh), Little Egypt; Chris (Holly Howell), Hatchet Lake; father-in-law, Pat MacDonald, New Glasgow; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Joyce MacDonald; brother-in-law, John Smith.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Rev. Peter MacDonald presiding. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
