Heather McBeath 1949-2006 HILLGROVE, NB - Heather McBeath, 57, of Hillgrove, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after losing her courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday, November 17, 2006. Born on April 8, 1949, in Moncton, she was the daughter of Audrey (O'Blenis) Beels and the late Fred J. Beels. She was a member of the Petitcodiac Mennonite Church. Heather worked at many diverse jobs during her years, such as at Crawford Housewares, Consumers Distributing, Havelock Lime, Super Variety of Petitcodiac, Kiwanis Canteen, Petitcodiac Library and the Petitcodiac Post Office. However, her last and very favorite job of all was caring for seniors in their home, whom she also dearly loved, one and all. She was also very adept at writing poetry and doing crafts. In years past she was a high average bowler and she enjoyed her years at organizing events for the Thursday Morning Bowling League at Fairlanes in Moncton and later also bowled in leagues in Sussex and Petitcodiac. For several years she was a member of the Salisbury/Petitcodiac St. John Ambulance Corps. She loved nature, her dog, cat and feeding the birds in winter and the hummingbirds in spring and summer. Bingo and yard sales were her other passions. She also loved watching the eagles at the Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac where she will be laid to rest. Besides her mother, Audrey Beels, Heather is survived by her husband, Dick McBeath of Hillgrove; children, Mary-Lynn (Norm) Richard of Shediac Bridge, Kenny (Sherry) McLaggan of Fredericton, Alan (Tammy Watson) McLaggan of Moncton, Tim (Fiancee Josee Cormier) of Hillgrove; step children, Kim McBeath of Moncton, Debbie McBeath (Alan Keays) of Point du Chene; sister, Gail (Ken) Ramsay of Moncton; brother, Fred (Allaine) Beels of Riverview. She also leaves behind her other great loves of her life, grandchildren, Brenden, Christopher, Alex, Sammy, Katie, Kaylee, Brooke and Jenna, who will miss her tremendously as she gave so much of herself to them. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, including those in England and New Zealand. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, where visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 20, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the Petitcodiac Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 2pm, Pastor Eric Henderson officiating. Burial to be held at Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
