Roy Brander

Roy Brander 1918 - 2006 BAYFIELD, N.B - The death of Roy Brander, age 88, occurred at Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville N.B, on November 22, 2006. Born in Northport, NS, he was the son of the late Archibald and Frances (Baxter) Brander. He is survived and will be remembered by four sons; Clark (Pat) of Port Hawkesbury, NS, Robert (Peggy) of Murray Corner, Conrad (Judy) of Riverview and Harold (Janice) of Mt. Uniacke, NS; one daughter, Frances (Glen) Hubbard of St. Stephen, NB; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Laura; son Stanley; and brother Donald. A Veteran of World War II he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his military service, Roy worked in the lumber business for many years. He ran his own saw mill in parts of Northern NS and Southern NB. After retirement, he continued to serve the community by operating his own saw mill in Bayfield. As well, he enjoyed woodworking, bowling and hunting. He was an adherent of Wesley United Church, Bayfield, NB. For several years he served as a director of East Botsford Recreation Council, member of the East Botsford Bowling Committee and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #81. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Wesley United Church Bayfield, N.B from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Wesley United Church on Sunday, November 26 at 2:00 PM. beginning with a Royal Canadian Legion Service. Interment will be in Bayfield Cemetery with a time of fellowship at the Church Hall immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Extra-Mural -Sackville Branch or The Westford Foundation or to a Charity of your choice.
