RUTH VIOLET HATFIELD 1920 - 2006 The death of Ruth Violet Hatfield formerly of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB on Friday, November 24th, 2006. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Lodge) Myers and wife of the late George Douglas Hatfield. Ruth graduated from Dartmouth High and the Maritime Community College. She later studied voice and piano at the Halifax Conservatory. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church Choir for over 30 years and loved to entertain many family and friends with her talented musical abilities. Survived by two daughters; Sheri Cormier (Jean-Paul) of Grand Barachois, and Christine Hatfield (Stephen Melanson) of Moncton; one son, Dr. Brad Hatfield of Maryland, USA; two grandchildren, Natalie Pickard and Lisa Mercier (Marc); two great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Marina as well as one sister, Stella Robinson of Mayne Island, BC. A special thank you to Dr. Pierre Beaulieu and Dr. Richard Beaulieu and the nurses on the fourth floor at the Moncton Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, George; two brothers, Gordon and Ralph Myers and two sisters, Leola Bashow and Rita Myers. There will be no visitation by family request. A private funeral service will be held. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
