Regina L. White, age 89, of St. Bernard St., Lourdes, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, after a brief illness.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late James A. Sr., and Elizabeth (Tighe) Kehoe.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was a long-time volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society where she received many awards. She enjoyed bowling, curling, fishing and bridge.
She is survived by sons, Fred, Lourdes; Randy (Mary), Linacy; grandchildren: Justin, Maria, Beth Anne, Richard and John; sisters, Rose Fraser, Ottawa; Viola Fraser, New Glasgow; Louise White, New Glasgow; brother, Bernie (Val), MacLellan’s Mountain; daughter-in-law, Cathy, Montreal; chosen son, Fr. Donnie Boudreau.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester White; son, Paul; sisters, Jennie Fraser; Margaret McGibbon; brothers: George, Jimmie and John; nephews, Bob Fraser, Gerard McGibbon, Timothy Abbass, John White; niece, Connie Kehoe.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Saint Ann’s Cemetery at a later date.
