Allister M. MacLeod Allister M. MacLeod, 80, of Riverview, with members of his family at his side, passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Sunday, December 31, 2006. Born in Marion Bridge, NS, he was the son of the late Donald and Jessie (MacPherson) MacLeod. Allister was a retired labour representative, with the Canadian Labour Congress (Regional Director 1970-1987). He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Riverview, member of the C.B.R.T and G.W. Local 230 (1948-1970) in Sydney, NS and Life Member of Queen Lodge #52 IOOF, Sydney, NS. Following his retirement, Allister spent his spare time enjoying woodworking, story telling and spending quality time with his friends and especially his family. Allister will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Rose (Poirier) MacLeod; daughter, Allison MacLeod McArthur (Ross), Riverview; sons, Wally (Bev), Orangeville, ON, Albert (Nipper) (Robin), Riverview; grandchildren, Albert, Carol, Charlene; great grandchildren, Carol Anne, Shamus, Patrick; special nephews, Donald Allister MacLeod (Linda), Jimmy MacLeod (April); several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, predeceased by his brother, Donald (2003). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 7 to 9pm, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service at St. Paul's United Church, Cleveland Avenue, Riverview, Thursday, January 4, 2007, 11am. Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview.
