Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, March 8, 2009, Herbert M. Penney of Salmon Cove, age 92 years. Predeceased by wife: Hazel; brothers and sisters; son-in-law: Edward Hunt; daughter-in-law: Judy. Leaving to mourn: four daughters: Aggie Hunt, Harbour Grace, Hilda (James) Templeman, St. John’s, Marie (Guy) Lamontague, Hamilton, ON and Dorothy (Wilfred) Budden, Salmon Cove; seven sons: Fred (Nina) and Clayton, both of Salmon Cove, Gerald (Lenore), Barrie, ON, Walter (Margaret), ON, David, St. John’s, Melvin (Unetha), Salmon Cove and Ross (Sandra), Nova Scotia; daughter-in-law: Robina Cole, Victoria; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter: Amber; one sister: Edna May Butt, Carbonear; special niece: Inez Gedge, Twillingate; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
