Sylvia Marie Carter
Sylvia Marie Carter 1920 - 2007 Sylvia Carter of Lakeview Manor in Riverview and formerly of Pacific Avenue passed away at Lakeview Manor on Sunday, January 7th, 2007. She was born in Scoudouc in 1920, daughter of the late Alexandre and Marie (Poirier) Melanson. Sylvia was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church and was a volunteer with the Diabetic Association for many years. In her earlier years she loved playing the guitar with other talented musicians to the enjoyment of her family and friends. Bingo and playing cards also brought her much joy. She had a true passion for quilting and a deep love and devotion for her family. Sylvia will be sadly missed by her daughters, Janet Frizzley (Craig), Ile des Chenes, MB, Brenda Carter (John Hambrook), Dieppe; her sons, LeRoy, Edmonton, AB (Freida, Moncton), Victor and Leonard (Wendy), Moncton, Eric (Pat Blakney), Riverview, Gary Shediac; as well as 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special niece Theresa Babineau (Rene) of Dieppe. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Charles (1967); son, Wayne; daughter, Gloria (Tisdall); granddaughter, Debbie; three brothers, Fred (Felicien), Edmond and Camille; four sisters, Doris (Exelda), Margaret, Alice (Alexena) and Helen; also two half-brothers, Joseph and Alban Wedge (survived by Lorraine). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 from 2 to 4, 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Thursday January 11th, 2007, 1:30pm, Rev. Denis Belliveau officiating. Reception following the service.
