Lorna L. DeBow SAINT JOHN, NB - The death of Lorna Lane DeBow, of Woodside Park, Saint John, wife of the late Gerald DeBow, occurred on Thursday, January 11th, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Pleasant Vale, NB, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Mary (Lane) Colpitts. Mrs. DeBow was a Nurses Aid at the DVA Hospital, the TB Hospital, the East Saint John Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital for many years before her retirement. She and her husband spent many years in Springfield, NB, where they owned and operated DeBow's General Store and Restaurant. Lorna was an active member of Forest Hills United Baptist Church and was an avid quilter and gardener. She is survived by two daughters, Lois Smith (Peter) of Saint John and Jean Hodgson (Eric) of Rothesay; two sisters, Eleanor McFee and Ruth Dobson, both of Petitcodiac; five grandchildren, Cheryl Smith-McCavour (Jeff), Janet Vincent (LeRoy), Diane Barry (Jeff), Michael Hodgson (Yvette) and Scott Hodgson (Andrea); eight great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandson, Richard Smith. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, January 14th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 15th, 2007 at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will be held at Corn Hill Cemetery.
