Wayne Harry McKay FREDEREICTON, NB - The passing of Wayne Harry McKay, husband of Karen (Johansen) McKay, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on January 11, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 21, 1943 in Grand Falls, NB, he was a son of the late John and Gladys (Paulsen) McKay. Wayne retired from NB Power after 35 years and 3 months in 2001. He was a member of NB Power's 25 year club, a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church and owned his own Christmas Tree farm in New Denmark, NB. He was Grand Master of F & AM of NB, a Past Potenate Luxor Shriners, a Worthy Patron of Devon Chapter No. 37, Scottish Rite, a member of the Maxwell Lodge & Rose Croix, Past Master of Alexandria Lodge # 33, F & AM and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 15, Marysville. Besides his wife, Karen, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Joanne), Kelly (Mary) and T.W. all of Fredericton; two step-grandchildren, Jamie and Mark; one sister, Joyce Moquin of Plantation, Florida; two brothers, Douglas (Roxy) of Edmonton, AB, Greg (Marlien) of Fredericton and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Christ Church (Parish) Church, 245 Westmorland Street, Fredericton, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Timings for the tribute services are as follows: Masonic Lodge at 6:15, Eastern Star at 6:30 and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 at 6:45. A Requiem Mass will be held at Christ Church (Parish) Church on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 11 am with Father Ian Wetmore officiating and Archdeacon John T. Sharpe assisting. Pallbearers are Bill Boone, Garth Dingee, Curtis Hansen, Laurie Bishop, Winston MacKay and Charlie Bruce. Interment will take place at Saint Ansgars Cemetery, New Denmark, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to NB Masonic Charities and Housing Company - Camp Good Time, Shriners Transportation Fund, Fredericton or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
