Lillian Roberta Ward 1916 - 2007 Lillian Roberta Ward, 90, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2007 at the Sussex Kiwanis Nursing Home. Lillian was born in Saint John, NB, on September 1st, 1916, and was the eldest daughter of the late Albert Edward Straight and Lillian Hammond (Belyea) of Moncton. She was a member of the Sunny Brae Baptist Church and a Dominion Life Member of the Cathy McGorman Missionary Group. She had also been a member of the Braesiders Seniors Group. During her early years she was employed by Peaks, Zellers, and Fines. Later she was one of the first employees of Braemar Ladies Wear in Highfield Square, which later changed to Fairweather. She also enjoyed a number of years in the Moncton Toastmistress Group. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Karen Wasson (Donnie Hicks) of Sussex and Janice Ricker (Gaius) of Indian Mountain, Moncton; four grandchildren, Beth Gilbert (Glenn) of Moncton, Aaron Ricker (Sara Louise) of Montreal, Benjamin Ricker of Moncton, Sarah Hughes (Jeff) of Ottawa; eight great grandchildren, Ryan, Kortnie, Justin, Meaghan, Jerikka, Sherilynn, Shiloh, and Willow. She is also survived by three sisters, Muriel Bishop of Calgary, Helen Fenwick of Moncton and Connie Clark (Frank) of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Donald, and Harold Straight; and three grandchildren, Troy, Mark and Karla. Visitation will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gordon Poley officiating.
