Edgar Joseph Bourque

Edgar Joseph Bourque 1914 - 2007 COMOX, BC - Edgar Bourque passed away peacefully in Comox, British Columbia on January 28th, 2007. He was predeceased by his parents, Jeffrey and Denise (LeBlanc) Bourque of Shediac, New Brunswick; his wife, Nema; brother, Leandre; step sister, Denise; and step mother, Regina. Edgar is survived by and will be missed by his sister, Lillian Brown of Courtenay, BC; step sister, Bernadette; step brothers, Yvon, Normand and Leonce of New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Edgar and Nema retired and moved to Courtenay in 1974, attached a workshop to their home and Edgar spent his retirement years crafting a variety of items of show piece quality. He was a very talented individual who started out as a sawyer in his father's sawmill, took a drafting course and developed into a quality Stone Mason, worked at Canadian Car and Foundry as a machinist and finished off his working years managing an engine repair facility in Rouyn, Quebec. Edgar was a Knight of Columbus for 53 years. Prayers and viewing were held at Comox Valley Funeral Home & Crematorium, Courtenay, BC, on Wednesday, January 31st, and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church at 11:00am on Thursday, February 1st, 2007 with Fr. Paul Murphy celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edgar's memory made to the Extended Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC, V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
