Roger A. Throop SACKVILLE - The death of Roger A. Throop, age 61, of Sackville, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, following a lengthy illness. Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late Howard and Hedwidge (Landry) Throop. Formerly employed with Sealand Freezers Ltd., he was a general foreman for many years. He was a member of St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church. Roger loved his family, he enjoyed the outdoors, and was a camper, hunter and fisherman. A lifelong carpenter, he enjoyed a hobby of woodworking. Roger will be sadly missed by his wife, Joan (Sears), Sackville; two sons, Roger (Gloria), and Robert (Brenda), both of Sackville; a daughter, Lisa (Firth) Ward, Sackville; five grandchildren, Raymond, Jamie, Christian, Josie and Brandon; two brothers, Ludger (Irene) and Norman (Joyce), both of Sackville; four sisters, Delia Bates, Salisbury, Rosella Nadeau, Waterloo QC, Roberta (Louis) Collins, St. Leolin, NB, Jeannette (John) Strang, Sackville; a special niece, Mary Ann (Joey) Wells, Bowmanville, ON; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jeremy Ward and Emily Anne Throop; and a sister, Evangeline Lirette. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 9:30 until of the time of departure to the church. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 11 am, from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. Burial in the Westcock Cemetery in the spring. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
