Muriel Gertrude Leach of Mount Saint Joseph Monday
Muriel Gertrude Leach MIRAMICHI, NB - The death of Muriel Gertrude Leach of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Cassilis, NB, widow of William (Bill) Leach occurred at the nursing home on Monday, March 5th, 2007 at the age of 90. Born in Cassilis, NB, Muriel was the daughter of the late James and Myrtle (Whitney) MacTavish. Muriel was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, UCW and the Cassilis Community Club. Muriel is survived by two daughters, Winnie Forsythe (Winston) of Whitney, NB and Margaret MacDonald (Reg) of Moncton, NB; two sons, Donald (Shella) of Whitney and Hayward (Elinor) of Ottawa, ON; sister-in-law, Verna Leach of Thunder Bay, ON; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Muriel is predeceased by her half sister, Helen Allison; and five half brothers, Earl Whitney, Ernest, Ray, Harry and Clark MacTavish. The family will receive visitors at Meadows Funeral Home on Thursday, March 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 9th at 2 PM with Rev. Blair Whyte officiating. Burial will take place in St. Stephen's United Church Cemetery later in the spring. In Muriel's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, St. Stephen's United Church Cemetery Fund or to a memorial of one's choice.
