It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela McKinnon of Daley Road, New Victoria on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at home.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of Theodore Joseph McKinnon and Valerie (Tighe) McKinnon, New Waterford.
Angela was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Joseph Church, New Victoria. She graduated from Holy Angels High School and was employed with Stream in Glace Bay until one month ago.
Angela loved spending time with her girls and always enjoyed hanging out with her family and friends. Her carefree spirit will be forever remembered.
Surviving are her daughters, whom she loved dearly, Macey and Morgan, at home; brothers, Pat (Sheri), Glace Bay, Wally (Jenn), Wade, both of Petawawa, Ont., Theo, Winnipeg, Man., Wayne (Angela), New Waterford, Ricky, Lancaster, Alta.; sisters, Debbie (Trevor Leudy), New Victoria, Sherry (Mike Gibson), Ottawa, Stacey Wadden, Ontario, Shyanne, Winnipeg, Man.; maternal grandfather, Wallace Tighe, New Victoria; paternal grandmother, Regis McKinnon, New Waterford; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; best friend Jenny Dauphney. ‘Aunt Angela’ will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Angela was predeceased by maternal grandmother, Joyce Tighe, paternal grandfather, Theodore McKinnon and special grandmother, Angela Power.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Angela will take place 10 a.m. Thursday in the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Cremation will follow with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria, at a later date. A luncheon will be held immediately following the funeral mass at St. Agnes Hall on Convent Street, New Waterford.
