Gerald Irving Kierstead The death of Gerald Irving Kierstead of New Maryland, husband of Marilyn (Ross) Kierstead occurred on March 21, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Maugerville, NB, he was a son of the late Irving and Helen (Anderson) Kierstead. Gerald was co-owner of Kierstead Group of Day Care Centers, and was affiliated with the First Congregational Church of Fredericton. Besides his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy Kowalski (Richard) of New Maryland and Jodi Campbell (Ashley) of New Maryland; two sons, Ross Kierstead (Diane) of Port Coquitlan, BC and Wade Kierstead (Nancy) of New Maryland; 12 grandchildren, Luke, Paige and Daniel Kowalski, Hilary, Morgan and Cole Campbell, Samantha and Shelby Kierstead, Gracie, Abigail, Erin and Isabel Kierstead; one sister, Marlene Maxwell (Elwood) of New Maryland; three aunts, Dorothy Chase, Marion Lean, Vera Kierstead; one uncle, Harold Kierstead; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will take place at the Faith Baptist Church, New Maryland on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the church on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Bradley Little officiating, Pastor Larry Matthews and Rev. Jeff Crabtree assisting. Interment will be held in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, New Maryland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the First Congregational Church Building Fund or to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
