Lloyd R. Ford
Lloyd R. Ford 1914-2007 Lloyd Ford, husband of Marie of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, March 31st, 2007. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Austin C. and Gertrude (Bishop) Ford. His early working career was with the T. Eaton Co. and the Lounsbury Company for several years until the start of the Second World War. He was employed with the Federal Government in Moncton as Assistant Regional Employment Officer for the Maritime Provinces, and following the war he returned to the Lounsbury Co. Ltd., retiring as a Director and Secretary-Treasurer of the company. Lloyd worked with the legal firm of Murphy, Murphy and Mollins part time until his final retirement at the age of 75. Lloyd was a member of the Mount Royal United Church, The Probus Club, a former member of the Beaver and Moncton Curling Clubs, The Kinsman Club, past President of the Moncton Credit Granters Association as well as past President of the Lounsbury Recreation Club and various fishing clubs. He is survived by his wife, Marie; and daughter-in-law, Marion; as well as three grandchildren, Stephen, Sandra, and Susan; eight great grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Peggy, Patsy, and Paul and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Edith; and his only son, John. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service to be held at Mount Royal United Church at 11:00 am on Monday, April 9th 2007. A reception for Lloyd's family and friends will follow the service in the church hall. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
