TUMBACH - Barbara Tumbach of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009, at the age of 81 years, beloved wife of the late Simon Tumbach. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Larry (Joan) Tumback, Charles (Janis) Tumback all of Abbey, SK, Agnes Watson of Red Deer and Gwen (Ernest) Meding of Trochu, AB; thirteen grandchildren, Janel (Craig) Vossler, Christy (Paul) Winquist, Michelle (Michael) Long, Cindy (Kyle) Raab, Kara Tumback (fiancé, Jason Elik), Kaley Tumback, Gina (Tom) Fanning, Brenna (Stacy) Hittel, Shelby Watson, Michaela Watson, Isaac Watson, Cheyenne Meding and Laramie Meding; four great grandchildren, Reid Vossler, Keira Winquist, Barrett Long and Frankie Raab; two sisters, Johanna McDonald and Juliann (John) Calpas; four sisters-in-law Dorothy Hagel, Tillie Hagel, Phyllis Harty and Elizabeth Tumbach; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Simon; her parents Susanna and Andrew Hagel; two brothers, Tony Hagel and Simon Hagel and her grandson, Wacey Meding. Barbara Bertha Hagel was born on February 28, 1928, five miles south of Prelale, SK. In 1950, Barbara and Simon were married in Lancer, SK. They lived on the farm 12 miles south of town and retired to Medicine Hat in 1981. Barbara moved out of her house to the Cypress View in 2003 and then to the Good Samaritan Society in 2004, where she lived until her passing. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she also had a passion for taking pictures. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. John Maes celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
