Robert “Bob†Wilkinson was born on October 15, 1928 in Lily Plain, SK and passed away at home on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Robert is survived by his wife Mary; three sons Brian (Jan), Timothy (Carol) and Lyle (Claudette); three daughters Carolyn Smith, Katheryn (Guy) Mounce and Valerie (Gerry) Wright; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters Ann Begin and Margaret Ducummin; one brother David and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents George and Sarah (nee Henderson) Wilkinson; three brothers George, John and Leonard; two sisters Alice (Albert) Clark and Isabella (Nick) Nicolai; a daughter Brenda (1971); a son Brent (1992); two grandsons Tyler and Tyson and one granddaughter Deanna. He was always a farmer first. Bob had many interests which led to trucking and in later years carpentry. As a farmer he had a purebred simmental cattle herd for many years. There were always sheep in the mix and in later years, horses also joined the farm. Bob’s life was filled with love and care for his family. Every child and grandchild has a memory of Bob in a piece of carpentry handcrafted for them. Bob was a conscientious community contributor. When his family was young he was very involved as a school trustee on the local School Board. He also had a passion for the operation and upkeep of the old community hall. He was instrumental in the building of the new Lily Plain Hall as it stands today. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Charity of Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
