Blanche Evelyn Johnston 1919 - 2007 On May 13th 2007 surrounded by her family, Blanche E. Johnston peacefully continued on her journey. Formerly of The Kinsmen House in Moncton, Blanche passed away at The Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Riverview at the age of 88 years. Born in Lower East Pubnico, NS on April 16, 1919 she was the daughter of the late George and Muriel (Murphy) Wilson. Blanche was a former school teacher, whose passion for learning carried on long after she left the schoolroom. Blanche enjoyed many scheduled activities offered at the Kinsmen House, some of her favorites were playing cards, and Bingo. Although her last years were often filled with suffering and pain - she was a lady till the end. Blanche's laughter still rings in our hearts and her spirit will keep us strong during this time of deep sorrow. We know that she is watching over us, and we will do our best to make her laugh and make her proud. Blanche is survived, celebrated and deeply mourned by her daughters, Linda (Ken) Nealey of Blenheim ON, Flora Beatty of Riverview, Joyce Jones (Lee Sherwood) of Intervale, Ardith Blanchard of Riverview, Muriel (Mel) Tingley of Edgetts Landing; sister, Muriel Sears of Yarmouth; brother, Lloyd (Prudence) Wilson of Toronto; ten grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; six nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her only son, Lyndon Roy Johnston in 2000; sister, Ruby Humes in 2002; nephew, Clare Wilson in 2002. A memorial service will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 1:00pm with Rev. Carol Mullins officiating. In Blanche's memory, donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society, or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
