Frances Ernestine Moir BLOOMFIELD
Frances Ernestine Moir BLOOMFIELD RIDGE, NB - The passing of Frances Ernestine Moir of Bloomfield Ridge, NB occurred at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home on May 28, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 3, 1905 in Bloomfield Ridge, York Co., NB, the daughter of the late William and Lillian (O'Donnell) MacDonald. She was a dear mother of Weldon Moir and his wife, Shirley of Fredericton, Calvin Moir and his wife, Marjorie of Gatineau, PQ and Florence McCord and her husband, David of Riverview, NB. Loving Grandmother of Clarke, Karen, Douglas, Deric, Mark, Troy, Peter, Nicole, Jill and Matthew. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. One brother, Rev. Angus MacDonald and his wife, Pat of Ottawa, ON; one daughter-in-law, June Calhoun; five sisters-in-law, Verna MacDonald of Bloomfield Ridge, Geraldine MacDonald of Fredericton, Bertha Green of Fredericton, Nan MacDonald of New Glasgow, NS, and Elizabeth Moir of Boiestown; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances is predeceased by her husband, Everett Alexander Moir; one daughter, Loreta Mae; one son, Donald Moir; two sisters, Eleanor Anderson and Florence Edwards; four brothers, Ralph, Murray, Richard and Willard MacDonald; sister-in-law, Marjorie MacDonald; and two brothers-in-law, Roy Edwards and Andy Anderson. She was very active in all phases of the church and community work throughout her life, being a Member of Bloomfield Ridge United Church of Canada; life Member of the United Church Women and Women's Institute and served as a member of the Canadian Cancer Society. She was a partner with her late husband in the E.A. Moir General Store business and Kenmore Fishing Lodge on the Miramichi for many years. She graduated from the Provincial Normal School and taught school in the public schools of NB for several years. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2007 from the Boiestown United Church with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating.
