
Ellwood F. Bateman Sr.
Ellwood F. Bateman Sr. 1925 - 2007 Peacefully passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, July 19th, 2007 at the age of 82 years. He was the husband of Mildred (Mullen) Bateman of Shediac Cape. Ellwood was born in Shediac Road, NB, he was the son the late Amos and Ella (Wood) Bateman. He attended St. Martin's in the Wood Anglican Church. A member of the Zetland Lodge # 24, Eastern Star # 26. He also worked at Eaton's Co. for 35 years and retired from Number 5 in Moncton after 15 years of service. Besides his wife, Ellwood is survived by his son, Ellwood A. Jr. of Shediac Cape; his daughter, Darla Bateman of Moncton; his brother, Ronnie Bateman (Winnie) of Caissie Cape; three sisters, June Rafuse (Charlie) of Black's Harbor, Emily Steeves (Ken) of Petitcodiac, Joy Welling (Arnold) of Shediac Cape; two grandchildren, Savanah and Jessie; and by many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Art and Gordon; three sisters, Gladys, Hazel and Joan. A Masonic service will held from the church on Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Martin's-in-the-Wood Anglican Church, Shediac Cape on Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Father Richard McConnell officiating. The family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetic Association.
