DENCKER - Doris V. of Eston and formerly of Lancer, SK, passed away in the Kindersley Hospital on March 7, 2009, at the age of 86. A funeral service for Doris was held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK, with Kevin Johnston of the First United Church officiating. The organist was Arlene Olson, and a eulogy was read by her daughters: Shirley, Helen, Elsie and Doreen. The pallbearers were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The interment for Doris took place at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. Doris is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Bill) Watt, Helen (Ray) Steele, Elsie Nobbs(Partner Don Sterzuk), Doreen (Garry) Schnieder; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Doris is predeceased by her husband Herman, and son-in-law Brendon Nobbs. Doris was born on January 13, 1923, in Regina, SK. She attended school at Maple Dale and Ararat School. She married Herman Dencker on February 3, 1940, in Empress, AB. Doris enjoyed quilting, crocheting, collecting stamps and coins. She also liked camping and fishing, she enjoyed and took advantage of opportunities for outings right up to her last days.
