Mary Aletta McDermott 1933 - 2007 TARGETVILLE, NB - Mary Aletta McDermott of Targetville, NB, passed away suddenly at her home on Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 at the age of 74 years. Born in Targetville, she was the daughter of the late David G. Thompson and the late Greta (Roberts) Thompson. Mary is survived by four daughters, Debbie Myles (Les) of Toronto, Ruby Underwood (Brian) of Hoyt, Nora Hamilton (Joe Stewart) of Boistown, Valerie Stokes (Tony) of Fredericton; four sons, Allen Thompson (Sheila) of Harvey, Leonard Charters (Theresa Cormier) of McGivney, Jarrett McDermott (Lorraine) of Bass River, Adam Charters (Stella) of Tracy; 23 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie Symes (late Borden) of Ford Mills, Agnes Ripley (Bob) of Amherst, NS; three brothers, Kenneth Thompson (Doris) of Harvey, Herman Thompson (Betty) of Fredericton, Larry Thompson of Harvey; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Stanley Campbell of Taycreek and missed immensely by her care giver and sister-in-law of many years, Lois McDermott. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her 1st husband, William (Bill) Charters; 2nd husband, Seymour McDermott; Sisters, Gladys Campbell, Ruth Donaher; infant twin sisters, Nora and Norma Thompson; and brothers, Arlen Thompson, , Harvey Thompson; and infant brother, Edward Thompson. Mary enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid crib player. She also enjoyed her weekly nights of Newfie Bingo with the "Girls". She enjoyed telling jokes and singing old songs. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252) with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Brown's Yard on Sunday, August 5th, 2007 at 4:30 pm. Rev. John G. Pearce officiating. Interment in Church Cemetery. A reception to follow in the church hall.
