The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, March 9, 2009 of Stewart M. Bernard of Charlottetown, age 75 years. Beloved son of the late Russell and Gladys (Watts) Bernard, and stepson of the late Dorothy (Barlow) Bernard. Dear brother of Harold (Trudy) of Truro, N.S., Blanche Matheson of Charlottetown, Roger of Little Sands, Sheila (Andy) Gass of New Haven, Russell (Heather) of Hunter River, Kent (Donna) of Loyalist Road, and Margo (Edgar) Ellis of Calgary, Alta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by infant brother William, brother Wayne, sister Alta MacCallum, brothers-in-law James MacCallum and Roddie Matheson and sister-in-law, Devina. Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment later in the family plot at Hunter River Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
